I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord.
I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who plays His enchanting flute, whose eyes are like lotus petals, who is adorned with a peacock feather crown, whose form is as beautiful as a dark rain cloud, and whose unique splendor eclipses millions of Cupids in charm.
I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of eternal bliss and radiant consciousness, whose limbs perform the functions of all other senses, and who effortlessly sustains, perceives, and governs the entire universe.
In every ISKCON temple worldwide, this first track of the 1970 album Radha Krishna Temple is played during the Deity Greeting as the altar opens. Srila Prabhupada cherished this track deeply. Its lyrics are drawn from a chapter of the Brahma Samhita, rediscovered by Lord Caitanya in South India approximately 500 years ago, with the other chapters yet to be revealed.
